Photo Books

When you walk into my office downtown it has a wall of art…..preschool and kindergarten art.  I often get asked the question what do you do with all that art work this can’t be it!    It’s not trust me I have tons and that’s just one daughter’s work.  So a few years ago I started taking pictures of the art work before we tossed it away. (Dad of Two Peas swears this was his idea….so we will give him the credit)

Not only did it make me feel better but it made Pyper feels better too; we weren’t just tossing aside her hard work, we were keeping it forever on the computer!  I do have to admit if anything was painted with her little hand prints then I did keep those.  I mean come on!  I have to keep some right?

I then realized after taking all these pictures what a great idea to make them into a book, you can do it anywhere anymore I did ours through I love that site.  After we made the art books we gave them to the grandparents for Christmas a couple of years ago.  My Gram LOVED it, her hairdresser told us at the funeral that Gram was so proud of all us she took down pictures to show off every week.  One week she took the art book and just gloated!

Here is part of the one we made …enjoy the art (-:

I started off with a super cute picture of my princess…..

Pyper picked out all the pictures for her grandparent’s book herself.

We ended the book with an I love you to her grands (-:

She was so excited to see it come in the mail and even more excited to give it to them!

So next time you are cleaning and are up to your ears in your child’s art….photograph it and keep it forever!~

Newest ScrapBook Pages from Py’s 5th

Yes it took a year to get it done….not really only a little over a week but a year later here are some of the pages from Pyper’s 5th Rock Star B-day party last summer.

Enjoy I hope you get some great ideas!

I couldn’t find a book I liked for this one so we decorated the outside cover ourselves!

I loved making her invitation this was the most fun party we have ever done…..I can;t wait until next year since she wanted pinkalicious this year next year she wants to do it here again….so far any way !

I felt so craft after making the pinata pages (- :

I used a lot of  stickles (glitter glue just for crafts like these)!  These things didn’t come that way I just couldn’t stop!

We ended with a page of all of us!~ There are lots more pages from this book , so much fun things to us we for a rock star…..hope you enjoyed these now keep on scrappin!

Easter Boxes

The littlest pea started a new daycare last week just in time for their Easter party!   All the children are around Phoebe’s age so we just got colored goldfish and a Reeces egg.  But HOW BORING! We needed to Easter it up a little bit so out came the Cricket!

Best investment yet!

Some cardstock cut by the cricket….

Bunnies and Baskets

I added the bunny and basket after folding together the boxes put in the treats and wallah not so lame after all!

I loved the way they turned out I used all different spring colored cardstock, two of the Cricket cartridges: Forever Young and Stretch Your Imagination.

Happy Scrapping Everyone!

Memories Scrapbooking Expo 2010

I had such a blast at the Expo this year;  it’s my fourth year and this one was by far the best!

Friday I went  with my friend Lillian and we might have spent too much …. might have LOL I mean we will use it all right???

Our best find of the day was a make and take at the ScrapDazzle booth.  Lillian and I transformed a blank 12″ composition book into a beautiful composition book, best part it was only $4~!

I started to write in it already too! I decided the girls say so many cute things that I would just randomly write them down all scattered through the book maybe a picture here and there.  I just loved it!  Visit their website at the family that ran the booth and the business was super nice and everything we bought there were reasonably priced.  I got chalk that looks like a tiny ink pad to add the touches you see here on the flowers and fast drying glitter glue called stickles I didn’t use it here but I used my own later on a make and take from a different vendor!

Next we ran to the Create & Craft booth they were having you make Asian inspired cards, Lillian make a cute little girl looking at the moon and I made this….

They were very sweet and they are having a class in their store in April that I can not wait to go to.  Visit their website at see the A 3D Family Photo Tree that they are having a class for!  Would the look it’s awesome (-:

Lillian and I did a lot of walking around getting ideas and good buys we were so inspired! We can’t wait to make a day to scrap!

On Saturday I went with my friend Lisa we had scheduled two classes  and  knew by walking around and doing the make and takes with Lillian what we needed to do… So once we got in we ran to the ScrapDazzle booth I knew she would like the book we made the day before and to my surprise….they were doing another smaller version of the book for only $2!

We did use the stickles in this flower and they had us make a bookmark too!  This time the owners daughter was the teacher a cute little tween that knew her stuff (-:

We then took our first class it was kind of hard but such a different kind of scrapbook the class was put on by Scrapscription and it was pretty cool.  Our instructor was great but an hour for this particular class wasn’t quite enough ….Visit them here Here’s the canvas mini book called Take 5 the instructor was the designer as well and she has some pretty awesome ideas.

Here is what we achieved in this class:

We loved this class Lisa even discovered the Crop – O – Dile and went out and bought it that day … I can’t wait to get one too!

Then we ran around and looked for more cool make and takes and she found one!   We ended up at the Close to My Heart booth and made these awesome picture holders.  You can visit the  independent sales agent that ran this booth at her website

On this make and take I did add a little when I got home I added another flower over the white they gave us I used the stickles that I got at the convention and added a brad and a few more ribbons.  The make and take was good but I liked to add just a little more to make it even better!

After we walked around and ate popcorn and Diet Coke…..we made one last make and take and I stunk at it…..

It was from The Paper Cut and I did purchase paper and a book there they had the most unbelievable cards and projects on display.  You NEED to look at this website for sure …..

Here is my attempt at an Easter pouch…..I just don’t do stamping very well at all I should have taken a picture of Lisa’s her’s was perfect!

We had such a good time and had one last class to go…..Making a List….

It was put on by Scrapbook artist Mary Kemock, to be honest the class was good but we paid $20.00 and then a $5.oo for supplies it was a bit pricey for what we did but it is a great idea!

You are simply decorating a steno notebook I made mine a food diary so I can write down everything I eat and hope to start being responsible for what passes these lips and lose some much-needed pounds.  I plan on making another one this weekend for my friend Laura as she plans her wedding.  Now let’s see if she reads my blog and knows it’s her!  you can go here and click on all the vendors links if you would like to visit and get some really different and cool supplies not to mention some really good ideas and inspirations.

Here are a few of my favorite vendors from the show:

3 Birds – these ladies were amazing and so inexpensive for such awesome things! they sold out of almost everything before the show was even over!

Dillon’s Laser Designs – I buy from them every year they are so different and make the coolest designs I will post some scrap pages soon and I will make sure I mention them again.

Eyelet Outlet – need I say more! I always stock up and they are the home of the Quicklet eyelets you can quietly set with a pen!

EZ Laser Designs – Between Dillon’s and these guys your all set

ScrapDazzle – Of course! I loved everything this family owned web-based store has to offer the make and takes alone were enough to make me a customer for life.

Simply Stitched – Last year they about bankrupted me! I love the layouts they came up with and wish I could stitch as well as they do just amazing.

and many many more!

(if you are having a hard time seeing the pictures click on it to make it all you seee I know with some computers it cuts them in half)

12X12 Paper Holder

After having ruined so many paper holders…nothing ever seemed strong enough.  In fact I spent a lot of money on those tall metal wire types and all it took was my husband running into it with the vacuüm cleaner and it fell down like dominoes!

One night after  scrapping at the kitchen table I was cleaning up and saw my husbands Coors Light box I wanted to make it easier carrying everything back to the loft so I grabbed it.  Well low and behold my 12 X 12 paper was a perfect fit.  So the idea popped into my head to decoupage the box and make the paper holder.  The cardboard was super thick and heavy so surely it could hold about 20 pounds of paper.

Any of your paper and a 20 bottle Coors Light box

Mod Podge, a paint brush and cut the paper in all size square shapes

One I got done with three 12X12 I found the perfect box for 8X8 too! A show box from the littlest peas size 5 sneakers…

I love this system I treated the papers like files and now I don’t have to leaf through stacks!

I got so organized I even used a shoe box from the oldest peas size 12 sneakers and make a ribbon holder!

It was so easy and so much fun to get organized that I thought I would share.  I hope its helps one of you get organized too!

Happy Scrapping!

Valentine’s Mugs made for the oldest peas teachers

Pyper, our oldest pea, wanted to give her teachers something special this year for Valentine’s Day.  I had the perfect project….I had bought some mugs from Oriental Trading Company to make mugs for her teachers at Christmas unfortunately I ran out of time.   So Valentine’s mug it was!

After Pyper told me what she wanted on the mugs her handing her teachers flowers it was pretty easy.  It always starts with the cricut expressions we used the Everyday Paper Dolls, the other Paper Dolls  and the Walk in My Garden cartridges.

Pyper had a great time telling me what she wanted to wear and what her teachers usually wear, I got online for the school symbol to put on the teachers’ sweatshirts.  She has two teachers so we made two mugs.    She helped a lot with getting the paper dolls ready and was so sweet thinking about her teachers.

Once we had all of our pieces cut out I was able to start putting them together by this time Py was in bed this was taking longer than I thought it would!

Then I was able to put the paper in the mugs and wallah! Pyper’s Valentines Mugs…I couldn’t wait to show her in the morning.

We made it all pretty in the bags and she is good to go!

Here’s a picture of the other teacher just so you can see!

The Memories Scrapbooking Expo!

Friday my friend Lisa and I went to the scrap booking expo here in Columbus we took a class and got a sneak peek at what we were buying on Saturday!   We had a blast, we were inspired by just about everything we saw.  Our newest venture is the acrylic scrapbook we both got a few to try to see if we like them.  The ones we saw completed were amazing I even bought two large pieces to try and make pictures for the girls playroom.  Lisa really enjoyes all the new things to do with stamping and embossing….I wish I could get into that part but I am just not good at the stamping part.  Oh we did purchase some liquid glass which almost has an epoxy like quality.  You put it over whatever you want to shiny and sort of puff up can\’t wait to use that!  I have so much to scrapbook from October until NOW which is fall pumpkin patch pictures, Halloween Phoebe\’s first Christmas in four different places, Valentines Day, St Patrick\’s Day Parade and soon Easter I need to get on the ball!   Anyone have ideas??   Please share for all to see !  Here are a few pictures of one of my some of my favorite scrapbooks before the cricut LOL …Pyper was three months in her first Halloween costume, she was one at the beach and one and a half  for our first trip to the pumpkin patch and her first trick or treat (-: Oh she was so little….then a few of the sister album I did that was the last one I worked on it was an 8X8 so it might be hard to see.  I ordered a few pictured today to scrapbook……1172 to be exact!  Let the scrap begin…any of my girls who want to come over and scrap with me are more than welcome (-:
