Have you ever felt compelled to write a letter to tell a company or person just how great they were?
I always find myself telling everyone at work, the day after one of the Peas Dentist appointments, just how awesome our Dentist Dr. Mitchell and Hygienist Heather is. From the very first appointment Heather walked each Pea through the process, let them see and feel if possible everything they would be using for their appointment. Pyper was an old pro by the time Phoebe had her first appointment at 3 1/3 years old. So being the awesome big sister she can be (I said can be!) she prepared her for her first appointment. (picture here is from December not our last or first appointment)
This time, however, Heather exceeded the expectations of any parent when she had to tell Phoebe she had not one cavity BUT two.
The look on Phoebe’s face was pure sadness, she brushes as she should; but probably needed more help with those back teeth. I just took for granted that she got them, luckily these are baby teeth and will eventually fall out. BUT STILL! Anyway, Sissy had a cavity last time so she assured Phoebe she wouldn’t feel a thing. I hope this is the last of them!
That shot above it before she was told the news! Yikes! Although they do love going to the dentist (-:
I made the appointment for Phoebe’s filling for that Monday. That is when we had the pleasure of meeting Ms Amy who told Phoebe her only job was to keep her mouth open wide. (but not right now LOL)
Ms Amy and Dr Mitchell both went through each of the tools that they would use, showed her what her filling was made out of, gave her a couple little brushes to hold and made her super comfortable. She really was listening to Dr Mitchell but they also put Disney on the TV in front of her after Ms Amy talked to her LOL (-:
The only thing they kept from her was the needle to numb her mouth and boy was Dr Mitchell sly. He had it hidden by his sleeve so she wouldn’t see it LOL. She didn’t see a thing and the pre-numbing solution must have worked; but just in case it didn’t Ms Amy slowly put her arm over her in case she tried to put her hands to her mouth. These two are no rookies!
By the way Phoebe didn’t even flinch!
After waiting for the numbing to take over the fun began and again Phoebe never moved. Dr Mitchell and Ms Amy assured her the while time that she was doing great! She was amazing!
Once Dr Mitchell drilled the tooth, Ms Amy finished up the filling polishing and making it smooth. Phoebe being Phoebe tried to catch the filling dust as it came out….yep that’s Phoebe.
So, although it’s NOT something I wanted to have to do with either of the kids (Pyper was 9 and didn’t want me back there with her when she had hers done) I am glad I got to see these two with Phoebe. I couldn’t be any more happy that we picked Grove City Family Dentistry as our Dentist. Now the silly part…. that face she felt nothing had no pain but she swelled up a bit and sounded so silly it kept us in stitches.
A week after her appointment Phoebe received a card from Ms Amy, she was so excited not only to get mail LOL but just the fact that Ms Amy said the nicest things and made her feel so special ~
Thank you Dr Mitchell, Heather and Amy! We drive by the office every day on our way home after work and know that she is waving to you and screaming Hello to each of you by name (-:
