Spring Break 2017 Sunday

This year I took the week off with the girls to spend some major quality time doing all kinds of things.

I spent time figuring out just what we would do each day and as we did them they checked them off the list.  Sunday we went to a skating party to kick off our week of fun!  The oldest pea is not a fan but she tries, the littlest loves skating.

Of Course when you add nasty glowing crap all it has to be fun!

Have I mentioned how happy I am to be able to spend Spring Break with these two cuties ? !  and tell you ALL about the fun stuff you can do locally or near by too 🙂 then after the Spring Break 2017 post stay tuned….I will also do a behind the scenes with the peas….it isn’t all fun and smiles people it will be time to unload!~

We’ve lost her…..LOL

But not this one she could skate all day….

Or fall….

One last pic for the Mom (those faces!) …. now to tell you all about Monday!

Skate America in Grove City…….the little loves skating here the oldest likes the games 🙂

Two Peas and The Summer Moon Festival

On July 19th and 20th the Armstrong Air & Space museum in the small town of Wapakoneta, Ohio  put on the Summer Moon Festival celebrating the 45th anniversary of the first lunar landing.

Chad the girls and I met up with my friend Erin and her daughter and made the trip.   It took us about and hour and a half to get there so we made sure to stop to eat lunch before we went over.  There were plenty of places to eat and you could see the Astro Theater from the road! We couldn’t miss it !

We went in and the kids were immediately drawn to Orbit Table it shows you how the moon and artificial satellites maintain orbit around the earth.   The girls thought it was like an air hockey table (-:   WP_20140720_009

Mr. Armstrong’s Gemini Space Suit….why is this Museum named after Neil Armstrong and have all his memorabilia?? Because Wapakoneta is the birthplace of the first man to step foot on the moon.   ” The museum opened on July 20, 1972, just the third anniversary of the lunar landing. The museum itself is designed to resemble a futuristic moon base. It is most beautiful when viewed at dusk and night.”  – Museum Brochure

We had a great time and can not wait to go ahead, be sure to check their website for the movie they will be playing when you go or for any special events coming up like this festival!

For My Scout friends, this place is awesome for learning and earning patches. They have a wall of patches in the shop that you could use as fun patches (Girl Scouts) the Scouts could even pick their own patch if they wanted to.   Not to mention tons of things to do in town here is the brochure for the museum, it has some neat things to go and see: http://www.armstrongmuseum.org/sites/default/files/aasm_bro_2.18.11_WEB.pdf

I hope you get a chance to see this year old treasure you are guaranteed to learn something!

Two Peas and Pigeon Roost Farms

Every year we take the peas to pick their pumpkins at Circle S Farms and it was wonderful and fun! This year we chose to go out and see what other adventures we could get into.  We wanted something bigger for our growing peas and boy did we find our new spot!  Pigeon Roost Farms in Hebron Ohio, yes it was a bit of a drive but not too bad and after posting we went there on Facebook I saw a ton of friends follow and they had a blast too!

DSC08429

http://www.pigeonroostfarm.com/

The day we planned to go was an awful rainy day but we figured it may stop by the time we got there so lets go!  The girls wore their costumes (something Circle S doesn’t allow for some reason) because it was kids day and they encouraged it the girls LOVED that and so did I finally getting to wear costumes more than once is great.

Once we got there I was in awe I love crafty things and they had several barns just packed with things to enjoy and buy if you wanted too.  But that had to wait….the peas and Dad of Two Peas were there for one thing….The Great Pumpkin Fun Center!

DSC08442

So big they had a map!  What to do first??

DSC08443

Well to get down to where we needed to be …

DSC08444

Py and Phoebe decided to go the fun route…

DSC08445

Did I mention it was rainy?

DSC08449

Once they slid on down they ran to see the farm animals goats, chickens and rabbits OH MY!

DSC08451

More chickens …Phoebe wanted to get IN the coop for a closer look when that didn’t happen she ran off to the enchanted  forest !

DSC08454

Now this was going to be interesting what enchantments did this forest hold??

DSC08462

Just all thing fun! With a little warning we are in the forest after all BIGFOOT !

IMAG9994

Py spotted the first thing and took off running ….”NO RUNNING”!  But you can rope walk (-: Phoebe chickened out no farm pun intended  (:

IMAG0001

Phoebe then took off….”NO RUNNING”!  But how could she not look at this thing!

IMAG0006

The rain had pretty much just stayed an annoying mist and the trees kept up pretty dry in there not to mention they had so much to do.

On the hayride we were able to see all the pumpkins, and the whole farm land and heard the history of the farm (they raise honey bees and make their own pumpkin honey!) it was wonderful even on a rainy day.  Hey Py let me get your picture…what is it Mom?   Oh you’ll see!IMAG0062

“MOMMY!”  We cried we laughed so hard I am very grateful to have kids with a sense of humor!

IMAG0064

It was raining harder and I just wanted to get to the craft barns….but there was no stopping this Pea crew!

DSC08491

Could not walk past something without trying it!

IMAG0047

At least they were dry in there!

IMAG0050

We even learned some things too!  (not just on the hayride)

DSC08496

DSC08500

Now can we please get to the barns!

IMAG0082

IMAG0112

I want to go to Pizza Planet, Mommy!

Last year we went to Disney World, it was the oldest peas second time and the littlest peas first time.  Before we got there Pyper was sure to tell Phoebe everything she remembered and that we had to eat at Pizza Planet like on Toy Story.  And of course we did!   Now one year later Phoebe sparks up about wanting to eat at Pizza Planet, so we explained its at Disney and we would have to wait until next year.   She was so sad and just walked away.  That is when the light bulb went off and I talked to Dad of 2 Peas….we are going to have to have a Pizza Planet night just for Phoebe.   After all I had just spent a whole month full of 8 Girl Scout cookie booths and she didn’t get to come to those as she is still a tag a long and not a Daisy until this September.  She did so well when I had to be gone so much that she deserved something just for her.  Her sister wanted in on the action too and what she did was just awesome!   So on a Friday that my Mom was at her daycare for her monthly late night.  I told my husband to pick up Phoebe a little late so that Py and I would have time to decorate the kitchen.  We weren’t going over board just enough to make her feel special and have fun.

IMAG4594

I had printed out the aliens from the claw machine to hang everywhere (see them on the light too!)  Pyper had this job while I hurried up and made a couple of signs to hand in the hallway and the front door.

IMAG4592

Pyper was so excited to show me what she made at school…..menus! not just any menus either …adult menus and children’s menus LOL she even made a connect the dots and color area in the children’s menus she amazes me and was so proud (-:

IMAG4603 IMAG4602

I had found some things at Kroger of all places that I ended up buying just a couple of toys for her one was the alien from the Claw Machine so we made our window into a quasi claw machine with Pyper’s arm as the claw LOL

IMAG4599

We used the other toy as a center piece to the table, set out the menus and pizza making supplies and waited.

IMAG4607

One last touch Pyper wanted to play waitress so we hurried up and made this from an envelope and pinned it on an apron….this kid makes me so proud to want to be crazy with me LOL

IMAG4609

Once Chad got home we ran outside Pyper with her apron on, told her to come in the front door so she could see the sign.  She can’t read much yet but she knows the pizza planet sign!

IMAG4617

This was her face when she first saw the her sister and the sign….priceless “Mommy does that say Pizza Planet?”

IMAG4614

She walked in as Toy Story (the first one of course!) was playing and was just in heaven.  YEAH! she liked it (-:  So we made our pizzas

IMAG4623 IMAG4624 IMAG4626

and while they baked Pyper played the Claw with Phoebe, she colored her special menu and played find the alien.

IMAG4634 IMAG4629

YUMMY PIZZA made by the peas themselves

IMAG4649 IMAG4650

After we finished our pizza we finished watching Toy Story.  (that’s pizza planet right there!)

IMAG4641

Then danced to the closing credits You’ve Got A Friend in Me ….

IMAG4655

It didn’t take much to make this little peas night ( hardly any money at all!) and I loved doing it the memories we made that night will last. They are always asking when we can do it again.  And I keep one of the aliens on my computer to make me smile remembering.

Oh and Chad thought he would pick up a second job …

IMAG4635

Pizza Delivery Man for Pizza Planet HAHAHAHAHA had to make some funnies for him too (-:
